Every day, two students are on duty in our class. Today, it is my turn with Emir. We come to school ten minutes early. Emir opens the windows, and I clean the board. Today is a sad day for us. On 10 November 1938, our great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk died. Every year, we remember him on this day. At 9.05 a.m., the sirens sound all over Türkiye. Everyone stops and stands in silence. At our school, we stand in the school garden. Then we sing the National Anthem together. After that, some students from my class read poems about Atatürk. In the afternoon, we visit the Atatürk Corner in our school. There are many photos and books about his life there.
